May 11 - 15 COVID - 19 School Schedule

Last week was so much fun! We learned a lot about dinosaurs and really took on some dinosaur personas. I will be happy to travel off into space where maybe we have less dinosaur fights?? The boys were so excited to have wafflesaurus for breakfast! I wish I could bottle up their excitement as it was so cute.

This week we will blast off into space for Space Week 1. We will be doing two weeks of space as lets face it... it's huge and how can you cover everything in just 1 week?

I have noticed a huge difference in my sons efforts and willingness to learn the past couple of weeks and I honestly want to say it is because of the consistency in our routine. I keep everything consistent and follow the same routine everyday. This means that they know what is coming next and we have less arguments about doing our school work. So, if you are dealing with push back about school or even anything I would recommend a routine and keeping consistent with it. Kids love routine as they love to know what is happening that day and next. Even when I was getting frustrated because he would fight me with learning I knew I had to keep my routine (once we found one that worked for everyone) and just keep being consistent in what we were doing. I am so happy that we have finally seen progress in our schooling!

I am also so proud of how many words my youngest son is now saying. He is really trying to talk a lot now and really vocalizing what he likes, doesn't like and what he wants. It has made life much easier at times as he can now tell us what he needs.

My oldest has really started to improve in his reading. He is recognizing a lot of words now and really using the pictures to help him predict what words in the book might be. I am so proud of him and hope he continues to work on his reading and starts to love it.

Our plants are HUGE!!! I need the weather to warm up outside so I can move them out to the garage and move them outside during the day as they are taking over our basement windows... I could probably start to harvest lettuce and my cucumber and zucchini are starting to grow flowers! I am so excited with how well they are doing I just hope they can survive in their red solo cups until we are able to plant them in the garden.
